Don’t get me wrong, it’s a different ride from the TS1 and Monza, but so smooooooth, good acceleration, will do 70mph and economical. In fact, mine and another GP, were the only 2 Lambrettas that didn't break down during that 900 mile trip.
So I would recommend a standard GP, it beats my other standardish classic rapido 200 (30 PHBH and PM28 pipe) well into second place.
In fact, I have spare Indian barrel that I am going to have fettled to stage 4 and take the rapido top end off.
picking a gp 200 kit?

Anyway rbgaz, ask Iain Mitchel, 'cos it was one of those times that I glanced at my speedo as I overtook him, so there, he'll tell you right, init!!!!
nowt wrong with a cast iron 200, 30mm carb and clubman pipe. ran cast iron, with 22/25/30mm carbs for years, very little problems barrel wise. just got an old Honda 205 stage 5 barrel /piston etc in a swap deal with a mate for a vespa seat... gonna run it with me indian big bore and 30mm solid mount dellorto to see what it does. some people are scared of cast barrels because of the dreaded "whispering death" of a sudden siezure... but set up well, they can be blasted all over the place no problem. ally barrels are for hermasexwals anyway.

im really considering, after all the weeks iv pondered, going for a mark broadhurst 200 or 225 indian , with his own piston and head,and a 25mm dellorto too, yes i know it costs, but im not convinced with either the af kits or the mugellos! But on the flip side, your never gonna please everyone with whatever kit folk on.A mecuer crank, new bearings, my rewound stator and new plates an springs,should see me eh?Will go an price it all up the now.

I've got a SIL MB 210 or 15 I can't remember with an RT piston and the head and manifold matched. It's quick enough and seems super smooth but I've also a 110 Yam rod in. I did have 25mm Dellorto but swapped it for 28mm. I've a Clubman on but I've been waiting for the of the new MB ones or the Avanti. I have gien up waiting and i'm going to botch ona Scootrs downpipe on. Gearbox is a SIL GP200 46x19.
I don't know why people bother with Mugellos they seem pretty crappy. I've also had Rapido and the barrel wasn't right.

Ive been thinking the same lately for when I get round to building a 200 engine, and thinking a tidied up SIL to be the way to go.....
Reliable daily rider and capable of sitting at 65/70 with a little leftover is what i'll be after.
Where would the best money be spent if I was gonna splash out on 1 of piston/pipe/crank?
MB v Asso v ?? piston
MB/Avanti clubman v indian big bore/AF v ?? exhaust
BGM v SIL v MEC crank

I use a modified Mahle piston in mine,don't see the need to spend 140 bucks on a forged piston.The crank was an MEC,not sure what rod I've got in it at the mo. I've run a jl3 and PM and both great,even a cheapo AF bigbore will be fine but deff.a 28/30 carb.

Sounds like a mismatch putting a revvy exhaust and big carb on a "classic rapido" cylinder? A kit not built to rev high with a pipe that is. I'm a bit disapointed with the rapido. Right from the outset, I matched it with a 30PHBH and AF Clubman and now a RB28 pipe and still lack lustre. So do you think that it would be a better ride, back with the AF clubman and Jetex 22.
