Have an RB engine and think it would be more sensible running with air filter but am no clearer to knowing what fits with reading various threads. Does the Breath Sweeter fit and I have also seen it lying horizontal , does it work ok like this?
Also oil seal has gone after 400 miles on brand new engine, anything I should look out for on changing it that might point to why it lasted so few miles (not too experienced on lammy engines but gonna give it a go).

thanks

In my experience most mid/long range usually accommodate the carb its the panel clearance for the filter which is going to be your main problem.
The standard Af RB manifold takes the Mikuni plus filter too close too the panel to give a good flow of air.

I have used a breath sweet facing backwards with a steel tube support (squashed narrow) inside the join between filter and air hose to prevent the hose becoming squashed and the jubilee clips coming undone, however this only fitted with the LTH short manifold and then had to down jet due to the air restriction and lost some power all for the sake of NOT cutting a panel hole.

Just fitted an LTH right angled filter to my Ts1 (gp body work) using a short MB inlet and it rubs on the inside of the panel badly :( ,anyway I have now put a bulge in the side panel to gain clearance but not sure what looks worse a hole or the bulge iv'e now created ,still atleast the motors now protected from the rain, unlike my LD auto that sucked up most of the rain from the M5 yesterday on the way back from wooly.

On the other hand if you've got a series 1/2 then you should have more than enough clearance to run an LTH filter.

As for seals I use Rolf or MB seals.

on the right side as apposed to the wrong side it works like this, I'm not sure it would work on the wrong side with an RB or TS though, maybe some one can enlighten me :D
Any idea where that remote can be purchased..
