5 speed drt cyclone

hello people

This subject must have been talked about already But from reading the review on the Lambretta cyclone In the Scootering magazine I'm interested too know more about the gearbox. And hear from Diablo motors himself as it was tested on his Dyno. I am really interested in buying one but I would like too make myself more confident in it as £600.00 is a lot.

Would a 5 speed benefit me? I do a lot of pillion riding mainly motorway riding. will the 5th gear be more of a overdrive so when I'm cruising less strain on the engine? I am hoping too drop the revs even more Dont really fancy having too drop it down too 4th every two seconds if I hit a head wind or constantly chasing it into the power band all I'm after is even more of a tourer set up

one last thing it states, possible improvement in fuel economy? Doesn't really come into it When riding a tunned lammy but saving money I'M UP FOR IT

Indian 200 box
47 -18 sprockets
rev tour mb pipe

If, when your testing and review of the gearbox is complete Rimini asked you for £600 to keep it, would you.

As Eden said 5 gears would be better as you could use a pipe with a narrower powerband and if geared correctly you would always be in the power.
Does anyone know what ratios the box has?

I've rode the 5 speed rapido of stickys albeit only a short few miles. It performed rather well in terms of pick up through the gears and if you do hit a hill or a headwind quick change down to 4th!! And it picks up rather quick into the powerband again then notch into top, whereas if it were down to 3rd normally you always get that slight lull then quick build up screaming then into 4th to quickly lose all the power again!

All this talk of the new 5 speed cyclone gear boxers I might have given the old 4 speed box the kiss of death from my eventful evening last night ride out :flaming:

managed too destroy the gear selector , bent the lay shaft , 4th gear doesn't look great , and hub bearing

waited for recovery for about 3 hours stripped the engine down this morning, the joys of scootering love it

so where can I order the cyclone kit from? any scootershop stocking them yet?

Parrspeed I think are gonna be the main (only?) stockist in the UK iirc.

Could try and get yourself a late pacemaker box for 1 quarter of the cost and does the job very well.
