I have a Honda 205 kitted sx150 run with a 30mm dellorto dont know the jetting off hand but i run it without a filter.

If i try to start it with choke on it wont start but if i put a foam filter on along with choke on it will start up handy enough but it wont run with the filter on it just bogs down.

So basically if i want to start it i take the panel off put filter on kick over, starts up warm it up, remove filter and she is good to go. There is no problem restarting once its warmed up but if left off for a few hours i have to perform the same procedure

Any ideas on an easier way of starting it i got alot of advice on jetting it over in Belgium and it runs great once started its just getting it going.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your choke isn't working when cold. Common cause for this is that the cable isn't adjusted properly or the cable is too long and the choke lever isn't actually pulling the brass choke plunger up in the carb.
Or.........choke jet/system is blocked with muck.
Check your choke system before messing with jetting.

if you look down the bellmouth of the carb, on the left hand side you will see the choke hole. Look down the hole and you will see a brass plunger. Operate your choke lever and if the brass plunger does not move up significantly, cable adjustment is your problem.
Very common problem. People either have too much choke or too little before they realise its this.

How far up should the choke plunger come up, as you look at the front of the carb and the hole where you can see the plunger, should the bottom of the choke clear the top of the hole to work effectively.

Perfect advise.pull the cable by hand to test its opening fully..stretched cables or poorly adjusted usually accounts for poor starting when the choke is at fault.
