got a mate whos into all this porting bussiness etc (im s**t with this sorta thing
he reckons he can get a standard t5 to cruise at 70 by porting the engine cases and barrel etc has anyone done this if so do they have they port timings or measurements etc ?

Sounds mostly BS. to me. The T5 engine works hard enough through better 'standard' porting to just about keep-up with a standard P2 with only 125cc.
The 'porting' is right for standard exhaust and much beyond.
There is nothing much to be gained with case-mouth porting: removing the finger dividers and knife edging the transfer dividers add a very small ammount and make an even smoother running engine ....which it is already the best at!
'Tickle'the exhaust port if you know what you are doing: expect poss higher top-end at the expense of 'pulling power'
I was once 'amazed' that my T5 Malossi reed engine had the same top speed fitted with a standard T5 cylinder when I needed to put it in for a re-plate. A bit less torque due to the cc diference, but revved on with power on a flat road to well over real 80 mph.Trailing car speedo at 135km/hr. flat-out, for over 2hrs. in lane 2 on the A1 (with the Malossi this time not the 125).
If you want your T5 to do more and you are on a budget: Tafffspeed exhaut and and up-jet ;-0

Right: The Sito+ is the their pattern (copy) of the Piaggio T5 pipe: made to adapt for Px125s and PX200s
So a T5 Sito+ is the same as a standard T5 exhaust only more noisy.
Jetting 116 for a 'heart' drilled filter only seems OTT to me.
Try a 114, followed by a 112: it should pick-up

I haven't tried porting a T5 yet but I fitted a pattern piston which has bigger transfer cutouts at the sides and weighs a fair bit less than the standard piaggio item . Also I drilled the airfilter , richened the air screw , fitted a 112 main jet and fitted a sito plus exhaust . I left the 21 tooth cosa clutch in the bike which I put in for the malossi I was running in the past . My T5 is faster than any standard p2 that I've run with without question , even ones with the 12hp head fitted but sometimes if I'm looking for outright speed I have to drop my head on the handlebars to get the bike into the power . It might be almost as quick with the standard barrel as a malossi in perfect conditions but over a journey the malossi would get to the finish quicker . The malossi kit is the business but the piston slap gets very annoying . It makes it impossible on a long journey to work out if the engine is in good nick or about to go bang ! Also its very hard on rings which is a pain unless you like removing the barrel every 2500 to 3500 miles . It'll run fine for 2000 miles or so but if you measure the ring gap you'll be shocked at the wear . I always use fully synth oil but I do drive on !
