I have the following set up: RB22, tmx35(no airfilter), Jl touring pipe. Its runing very well, smooth and powefull wit lot of low end power. The jetings are pretty wel sort out.

My problem is that I think its extremly noisy(exhaust noise), I tryed to change the end can to a taffspeed type, but not any big diferens. I planing to change pipe to the JL race type, but if that just as bad as my old when it comes to noise I dont know..

My good friend have a Ts1225 with taff pipe(with PM end can) dellorto 32 flatside(no air filter) makes a nice sound and much much more quiet than my RB.

Any tip of improving this? Difernet pipe or other stuff?

I have of course check for leaks and craks and its all in perfect condition(all parts brand new)

Regards

doubt youl beat my mark 1 pm on my ts1!!! but yeah it can get irritating, ive heard if you pack the muffler less dense rather than overly tight it can be improved,so it actually "absorbs" more...worth a try before you shell out, visit your loft for some cheap wadding :D

Can I ask my neibors to use earplugs to.. ;)

One big prblem is that tuning in all forms is unlegal i my country, and with this kind off noise I attract tension from people I dont want to look my way....

I find the carb and the reeds to be louder than the pipe under acceleration I hear the pipe at Idle
Maybe an Intake Muffler is in order? Also the Gauge of Metal on the expansion chamber will resonate different frequencies from high to low. Your jetting will give off different frequencies too. Might try wrapping the whole thing with header material

Don't worry about the neighbours!

When I went to Beetsugar the other year, I woke the neighbours up at 4.30am with my big bore! Old fool next door chased me down the road shaking his stick in his Pjs!

Upon my return I visited him to thank him for getting up to wave me goodbye!

Try talking to Simon at www.b-racetuning.co.uk
To quote his website ........ "the mechanical muffler system as used in all my designs.
This gives a unique sound, is quieter than the usual absorption mufflers used on scooter expansions, and doesn't
need packing / repacking."

i first tried this many years ago ........and still do it ,but only for "special" customers........
basically its based upon the design of gun silencers................fixed baffles.......after a short expansion chamber in the tube........
NO wadding............just fixed in baffles.............works a treat............
all the best assasins /hit men etc swear by this set up..............
or consider it this way.........if you like.........
of all the many designs of gun silencers available ,none use the method of packing to suppress the sound.............by means of wire wool/fibre /etc or whatever............
