If you want a smooth torquey power delivery with about 14 bhp the GT kit is probably the one to go for. If you want a "zippier" power delivery then it's Mugello, or you could pay more for the RT and it'll look better cosmetically until it's fitted.
The GT seems to have very satisfied customers, so it's not an easy choice...
Does anyone have, positive or negative, first hand RT experience? How's the proprietary piston for example...?

there is no question, what our recommandation is. wait untill the bgm MRB RT kits are ready.
these are easy plug & play kits with Mark's tuning expereience for decades now. we have fitted three 225cc versions and three 195cc versions for testing the kits in all terms.
with this post I do referr to the 195cc versions for the small casings only. the dyno sheets are of a Li 150 Series 1 (fitted with SX 150 engine). Everything on the engine is plug & play, we took the sample of the kit and fitted it to the casings w/o matching transfers ports from casing to barrel. the exhaust used is a sito exhaust.
this dyno sheets shows the RT engine with 25 PHBL carb - blue graph.
what pipe was on the rt kit
the red grah shows the Mugello 186 V4 (bridged inlet) with 25mm PHBL and sito clubman. this scooter is of a customer of ours. he build the engine and came in for dynoing it.
the next graph shows the Mugello engine against the RT engine where we have replaced the PHBL25 for the bgm PWK 28mm.
sadly the dyno software has a bug. so I can't load the comparsion of a GT 186 fitted engine to the RT 195.
but like all the RT fitted engines we have tested, it is bloody quick. it was GPS'd with 127.6 km/h (79.75 mph).
this on a Series 1 and Oli even bettered this the next day with 131.6 km/h (82.25 mph).
a simple bolt on solution without the need for checking everything and than fiddle for hours an hours to get things right.
Cheers Philipp

Clubman 42 against what pipe? The rev range is weird on that Mugello. Clubman should rev out forever albeit with little power. Range on the RT is reed valve wide. Also the temperature, humidity, and air pressure is different suggesting they are not side by side runs.
Plug and play on an SX150 std gearing the engine would have to be revving over 9,000 rpm to get over 80 mph and making way over 20 bhp to drag a series 1 through the air to that speed. The graph shows that the power curve hits a brick wall at aprox 8,000 rpm (72 mph)

So, when is the BGM RT 195 kit available?
Would be interesting to see some real dyno graphs ...

I have two RT kits, both for the 200 casing, one piston ported and one reed ported. I agree with what Phillipe says, the are easy to put together, all the parts fit perfectly, and the 4 point fixing of the exhaust is a bonus. I can confirm the Dyno top speeds.

MB state there 195rt with a 30mm del and clubman will produce 16-19hp.
Interestingly the small block shoot out in a past Scootering mag has there kit same spec as above with a 48mm MB clubman produced just over 14hp with 14 torque almost the same as the Mugello with slightly different power characteristics.
I had a great dilemma with the small block kits last year when wanting to purchase one for my series 1. I've always liked MB's parts and service so was very tempted with the RT195 but i struggled to get enough feedback from users about its performance compared to the competition.
I went for one of Richard Taylors GT186 kits in the end, having not heard a bad word against them, i've been very pleased with it. Pretty much plug and play, i just matched the casings,25mm del and a Ancillotti clubman, 125li box 16-46 gears and it performs very well, been reliable and a smooth ride, nicer than the Mugello's I've rode. Also Richard has always been there to advise if i had any questions, nice after sale service.
The new BGM MB195 kits are going to be cheaper so they may be worth a try, I might be tempted myself for 125 Special i have, but would probably see the feedback from those who have bought them first, performance, reliability etc..

does anyone run wi one of these?
And wha do folk reckon to the price of mb`s dellorto carbs, set up at 250 quid? Considering you cann get one for 80 plus, i feel they are quite pricey at around 250.
