I'm new to Lammys and so any ideas & suggestions need to take this into account
Hard to kickstart

My S3 Li125 (SX150 engine I think, No - SX150 319275) is becoming increasingly harder to kickstart. It feels as though there is little resistence when kicking it over. The kickstart travels quite a way before it meets resistence and sometimes feels as thought there is no resistence. Other times it starts 1st time.
I'm new to Lammys and so any ideas & suggestions need to take this into account

I get my kicks out on the floor.
kickstart piston worn or sticking, 1st gear worn on the side, clutch badly adjusted (slipping). get the chaincase side off and have a gander, under supervision of an adult.

thanks for those, I did a bit of delving myself and I see the kickstart "ramp" may be mounted on slots and is adjustable. Also check there's no play in the pedal and that the splines on the kickstart and shaft aren't worn and no in / out movement in the shaft. Ideally the piston should be set to engage as soon as you start to press the pedal down.

Also when you have the side off, check the front sprocket.
The bolt that holds it on can come loose, and the first symptom is usually the kickstart slipping / not engaging.
If it is, dont use a bolt and separet washer, invest in one of the MBD stainless single piece items at about £13
If this has happened, the cup washer on the front sprocket that engages with the splines, tends to get rounded and is a bugger to refit, so best replace also (about £4)
