Exhausts.........again!

My bike / set up: ts1225, sx200 gear box, 15 x 46 sprockets & nk rally pipe.
This is all ok up to a point, pulls well through the gears etc, but I think it seems quite revvy even when only doing 55-60mph in top.
I used to run with a mk1 fresco, & it didn't seem to feel like I was thrashing it at even 65-70mph. I swapped it cos I didn't particularly like the look or sound of the fresco, thinking it's a bit dated.
Now truth be told, i'm not particularly fussed these days whether my scoot would only do 70mph flat out as I simply don't ride that fast anymore, & generally travel in small groups sat at between 55-60mph whereby you tend to stick together-ish, & are therefore only as good as the slowest bike.
Am I right in thinking, that by changing to either a Taffy mk4, jl3 or ads3 that I'd still get the good torque throughout the range, but that my bike wouldn't sound like it's working as hard when in 4th doing 60mph, or is that a bit simplistic?

BTW I'ts defo an nk 'rally' as opposed to 'race' as i've checked my receipt & rung AF to confirm.
Also Dan 'drunkmunkey'? I hear what you've said previously re the Franspeed race, but as you can see i'm not trying to achieve great speed or a massive amount of revvs. However, if it is as good as the aforementioned pipes low down, then i'd consider it.

The TS1 is by design a revvy bit of kit, you could maybe go for one of the new box pipes Ron Moss has launch..ed and also BGM and MBD..you just need to tame the beast a bit

revs x gearing = speed; unless you change your gearing exhaust will make no difference to speed for revs; power delivery could but revs will not change for any set speed,

So what you are saying is an exhaust has no effect on the rev range of an engine..

according to the gearing calculator you are only sitting at 6000 rpm which is nothing, deffo not thrashing. maybe the combination of induction and exhaust tone giving that impression.

the smoothest and quietest my ts1 ever went was with a kegra race pipe. so high rpm actually feels less thrashy as its smoother and feels more modern

the nk pipes have a short silencer with no additional silencing aids like double skinning or extended baffe tubes so are quite a noisy pipe ,a change of silencer could sort your problem which is as you say it sounds like its working hard/ revving

as muppet says the change of pipe wont change the rpm/mph relationship but does change the operating range at what rpm power is made at so before it might be 15bhp at 6000 now it might be 18 bhp at 6000 but if 6000 before was 60mph ,6000 on new pipe is still 60mph
if it feels like it would pull another gear then u could try a tooth bigger on the front to relax the rpm a bit

sorry if it sounds dopey.. ..but your clutch isnt slipping is it..what with the high revving ?as it come on or always been this way since changing the exhaust..

got one of these pipes, works really well but feck me is it loud. sounds like the noise is from the body as much as the can.
would exhuast wrap make a difference.
