Right, quick update. I fitted the steel worm drive, but left the nylon one on the hub because the new steel one was smaller in diameter so there would be feck all point in fitting it as they wouldn't marry up. But what I also did was to put a 6mm SS washer on either end of the worm drive as there was so much end float in the hub (think MB refer to this also) All greased and put together and I now have a very accurate speedo which tallies pretty much with my Garmin 101 GPS speed wise and has a nice smooth needle action (and the steel worm drive and pinion were half the price of a well known dealer

) Done 67 miles so far and perfect so far (kiss of death I know )
