Arrived from Barcelona just after dinner today:

I quickly decided to have a play and degreased the whole scooter and started to fasten things together as you do:

I cut and polished an area of the front mudguard to see how it came up:

It is an 80s Jet 200 (if you hadnt noticed) and fulfils a 13 year olds dream of owning an ochre Jet since hanging around Miles Kingsport drooling over them brand new  The plan is to resurrect the original paint as best as possible although the legshileds will be the biggest challenge so all tips for restoring the paintwork will be greatly appreciated :D..

Not to sure just yet on an engine spec but will probably be using a 150 GP block I have but wont rule out putting the avanti engine in for next year as a stop gap..Parts that I will be seeking to complete the bodywork will be:

Fork links
Ochre Horncast
Back light lens (later type ugly one) :D
headlight rim and light
ochre rear runners (a maybe)
serveta speedo

Very nice. Suspect you will find this is 77 or 78 if it has th US spec rear light. If you get a computerised Paint spec for the green of the internals I would be very very interested.

Why do anything with the paint and bodywork? Why not leave as is? (not stirring..)

Im only treating the paintwork to halt the rust, the legshileds need work as they are rotted through and have various very sharp edges on and no way pass an MOT :D
