what van you using tho?

was yours a timtronic or a bull 1e model?

terry had a scorpion on his 210 and it was s**t, wouldnt pull 4th and then shattered into crispy shards the minute i mentioned stainless cracking on the welds. he went for a sip peafarmer as thats all popo had in france in the end and it was great.

sip do their sip road-standard p2 looking clubman pipe for the t5 which transformed kylies fillertronic p2 so i may try one. it pisses all over the sito plus so may be the grunty option for my scooter in a van after all.

i may be wrong with the gold line, i read it could not be used with a stand so dismissed it........mmmmm

i had a t5 with malossi 172 and i tried a few pipes pm,scorpion,standard etc and the only one that would pull was a taffy pipe (not sure if it was the goldline?) but the one with the fat muffler that is also used on the lambretta. i think wsp were remaking them but if i were you i would look out for a second hand genuine one . it fitted with spare wheel and centre stand (although it was close)

The Taffspeed pipe I've got on my T5 fits with both the centre stand and spare wheel, (although the endcan does run about a centimetre from the sidewall of the back wheel with standard width rims.) The S.I.P Taffspeed replica made by JL only works with a sidestand, or so it says on their website. As I understand it, the genuine Taffspeed pipes for Vespas were all called 'Goldlines', maybe wrong on that though.

the thing is if you want your pipe to perform to its optimum you need to know what port timings the manufacturer has designed that pipe for and then match your barrell to that (its a little more involved than that but that conversation could go on for hours! ).

yes but my ability does not stretch that far. so i find it best to trust people that have tried them, its like jumpers....i know im an xl but have no idea or interest in what my chest size is

When I had a T5 Malossi. I tried a Scorpion, Pm, simonin, standard and a sito plus. Could not get it to pull in 4th with the PM, the scorpion more or less the same and a poor fit. The simonini worked ok but had to modernise to fit. (had to grind and weld it to clear rear tyre) The standard and sito worked great. So in my conclusion unless you like the look of an expansion stick with original and if you dont have one buy a sito.

Just to add to this I ran a 21 tooth clutch with this and standard upjetted carb, it would fly 70+ on a good day but to my advantage I only weigh about 10 1/2 stone..
