I have a phbh30 fitted whoch has decided to pretty much empty a fuel tank all over the road outside my house and on the way to work.
It wad coming out the overflow pipes.
The only thing ive fiddled with was the idle screw, could having it tio far in cause this?

Agreed, there is nothing that you could do to cause this by adjusting the idle/mixture screws. It could also be a punctured float, it has happened to me as well as the above sticking needle valve.Beanhead wrote:if its coming out of the overflow pipes i would thing the needle valve has stuck, happened to me the other week...

Hit your carb with a hammer.....it will free the floats/valve which is clearly stuck open.

Did you look at the float to see if it had any fuel in it?purple_pill67 wrote:Bear with me cos I dont know what im doing.....

float needs to come off, you have said you only took the float bowl off. long nose pliers, pull out the pin and the needle valve should come out with it, check the needle and the screw in valve part.

as Dan said without stripping a tap on the bowl side with the plastic handle of a screwdriver will sometimes dislodge the particle and allow the valve to seat again if not next least work remove the bowl and raise/lower the float flick the fuel on raised should stop the flow lowered should flow freely, if when raised it doesnt stop then a particle will still be stopping the tip from seating but repeated raise/lower generally flushes out the debris last chance is remove float pin and needle valve clean the tip and turn on fuel for a second to flush
a last possibility is when adjusting the mix screw if you moved the carb to get in ,the carb may now be resting on a cowling/toolbox/engine mount and vibrating but if just parked up not running and leaking then prob needle valve
