ah ok , so it'll be in my new complete clutch then ?
Could this be why the clutch started dragging ?

Yeah i would hope so fella!!
As for causing dragging etc by the sounds of it your old clutch had been through the wars so to speak lol.
It wouldn't have helped but not the sole cause methinks!

Cruciform was a bit rounded too

the end of your layshaft looks a bit fooked as well, MK1 gearboxes only shim from one end, and the other end looks nakered. i"d replace that as well, or you"ll have gear jumpin problems from the off. i"ll rake in the shed for one for you. that one looks goosed.
