Hi ive been out today on my tv200 ,it was ticking over pretty fast and lately its been hard to start once the engines warm,anyway after a short ride i take it home to adjust the carb while i was playing with the tickover the revs got higher and higher until the engine was screaming iturned off the ignition but it carried on running i then pulled of the ht cap but it still carried on until i stalled it.Can someone help? the carb is a standard 22mm dellorto Thanks

Look for an air leak. I've known of 2 people raising this same issue in the last year. In both cases it turned out that an air leak (one was inlet manifold gasket) that caused the motor to get super hot and then self ignite once warm, even with the HT cap off.

You'll need to investigate further.

Agreed, used to have a v100 that had the same issue, turned out to be a crack in the inlet manifold

Right went back to scoot and it started ok but i couldnt get it to run very well.ihad a look around the carb for any leaks etc [as advised ThankyoU]there was a small crack on the carb above the nylon insesrt that goes over the manifold,it was bodged by me with some sort of sealant years ago and id totally forgot about it ,anyway out came the 22mm jetex and now it seems to be ok.until the jetex starts to playup Thanks
