Firstly, thanks to everyone else for their replys so far.
Rich - thanks for your reply, all sounds awesome, especially the fact that that it has NEVER let you down, exactly the sort of comment we all want to hear about this kit, when it has been put together properly.
I can't help wondering if this is the sort of performance one would expect from the RB250 kit in its more bolt on standard form, with a cylinder head supplied by AF, and with their recommended choice of carb and NK exhaust etc. as I assume Ian must have done some fettling with your kit (I know he mentioned modifying the inlet manifold)??
O, and finally, I assume you are using the Franspeed RB Race pipe, and not the tourer, and what gearing have you found works best with this kit?
Thanks again, all really helpful!
It would still be great to get some more feedback and comments from current users of the RB250 kit.
Cheers,
Tom
Sorry for the delay.
Ian did work his magic on it checking port heights, matching to the cases that type of thing but nothing extreme, we have not altered the inlet manifold but he does like the look of the CNC'd one that was about, can't remember who was making them
The pipe I believe is a road/race, I think they were modified TS1 pipes at the time as apart from the NK's this was the only choice and I've had this type of pipe on TS1's and like them.
Gearing is Indian GP200 with 47T crown and 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20T fronts depending what I was doing, the smaller one's learning to sprint as it makes the launch easier then the bigger ones as I improved and currently 19T for the road although it will still pull the 20T which gives a genuine 100MPH, I like the acceleration of the 18/19T.

Thanks Rich; the more I hear about this kit, the better it seems to sound! Cheers for now, Tom22/2 wrote:Tom Russell wrote:Hi Rich,

I am really impressed with mine however over the years (like many people on here) I've had good engines and bad engines, I've hade TS1's that did eight rallies a year plus I road every day as I didn't have a car and I've had a TS1 that blew holes in pistons time after time and never found a reason for it.
Out and out power it is impressive, a lot of people talk about the TS1 a proven engine, but they can all break - when they do it's not cheap, I don't want to put you off, if it's what you want get one - today, lifes to short. If it goes wrong put it right but go to someone with a good rep for the initial build, Ian, JB, MB, Readspeed, 100 MPH Lambretta (Stuart Owen).

Thanks again for this additional information, which is very much appreciated!
I totally take on board what you are saying about "the initial build", and in fact I've just recieved a PM from Ian.
Thanks again!
Tom
Any more feedback on these kits?
Has anyone tried one of those Allstyles 1/2 cowling on them?
