Indian casings?
I've heard of some instances where the 4 holes for the oil seal retainer plate are not machined centrally to the bearing hole and this results in the seal lip fitting tighter to the crank on one side and looser on the other. Does the seal you removed show uneven wear?
One possible solution to this is to 'customise' an oil seal plate with new screw holes to suit.
WTF evaporating oil ?

end of the day,if there are no oil leaks from the crankcase, chaincase, rear hub.it has to be,been burnt off due to oil getting past the drive side oil seal, for one reason or another.
