thanks for input guys. think i will try do mod on repro scoop. but basically it sounds like it wouldnt be an issue to run as is.

I'm on about the the kidney and more standard type air boxes on the lynxs, not the jet in the toolbox type. ^... correct, there was a late version on Spanish bikes that used an airbox in the Italian position but without a scoop fitted. Many of the Italian slope backed seats had a hump formed in the steel base, which didn't allow a scoop to be fitted and relied on the seat to provide a bit of space for indiction... not really much of a chamber though. I'd just leave it off.

You'll need to see how much room is available under heat and around front hinge. If you've ever looked at slope back seats the hinge REALLY restricts flow into the standard airscoop and filter box, yet people have run those with standard carbs and filter assembly for decaded (noting that the restriction is normally to great for people wanting to run bigger carbs through modified air boxes).
Check out the seat for clearance. Providing that clearance is sufficient then you should have no problems with a standard carb. A pal of mine changed to a later Spanich duel seat (off a Lince) so that he could go 2-up to Milan (1997) on his LI fitted with standard Jet/SX200 motor. As he could not fit the scoop under the seat he simply removed the scoop and it made no difference to the breathing/runnin gof the scoop. Standard 20mm carb fitted.
^... the only problem he had was at the first petrol stop in Caen, when he popped the seat and filled up the open filter box hole, which had previously been covered with a scoop! (oh, how we laughed!!!!!)
