Disc brake advice please

that PMtuning setup looks nice

have any of the "builders" on here looked at the monkeybike etc market?

I got a nice 10" front wheel with big brake disc (225mm) and sourced a caliper etc for not a lot of money, ok so theres some basic fab work required to mount the caliper, basically a spacer/bush with bearings inside to pivot on the axle, then a plate to get the caliper in the right position, then a linkage, ie 2 rod end joints set at the same length as the distange from pivot bolt to axle on your links, and mounted to run parrallel to the pivot and axle. Hardly rocket science, a caliper from the back of a modern sports bike would be fine.

or is the main aim with the scooters to keep the wheels matching and have the removable rims etc??
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

The PM kit looks good and at £280.00 not a lot more than the kit that Corrado mentioned . . . . . however . . . . The SRS kit from Just Lambretta (Corrado) comes complete with master cylinder, mountings, hoses, etc . . ie all the bits you need to fit it. Buying these bits seperately is going to increase the price considerably. The PM kit looks a bit "twistngo" as well.

My thoughts exactly - adding all the other bits on does make it a fair bit more expensive.
The PM one does look nicely engineered but personally I want to retain the swappable wheel system too.
I have now ordered the SRS kit from Corrado (who has been really helpful & great to deal with). Should be here early next week.

Just had a look at mate's SRS disc brake which was rubbing and just not operating properly - the outside pad was catching the caliper carrier and restricting the caliper movement, easy fix but just wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

I do agree that all our products brake wise are more expensive than products made in the far east ,dont need to say why they are more expensive I think most people would know that. What people may not know is that the major part of all sales of our hubs & the reason we dont supply hbr mstr cyls to customers is the customer has already had a far East manufactured hub which they change to one of ours and so already have the hbr master cyl set up already fitted .You can see far east hubs for sale on ebay but rarely with hbr mstr cyls, ;)

The ScootRS ones are fine... no problems .... but definitely junk the rubber cable and upgrade to a decent braided hose..... Chiggy at Lambretta Upgrades does some excellent ones that can be colour coded to match the bike.....
