I'm having trouble with brake binding. Found the slave unit to be slightly rusted, after polishing some rust areas were pitted. I greased the slave unit (not sure if I should) but still getting binding. It seems that the piston is not returning enough. I also dont know what motorcycle it's from to get any seals etc, any ideas fellas
The piston in the slave may have been manufactured, rather than sourced from a motorcycle. Mine was made by Kev Braithwaite (long before TWE) and it was custom built.
It would be worth checking the other aspects of the brake. Is the disc loose on its dowels when the caliper is out of position?
Is the static pad correctly adjusted? The disc might be rubbing on the ali that supports the static pad, giving the impression of binding.
looks like a Sukuki piston out of a GT 250 or similar....I Might be wrong........ Martin from Chiselspeed's did a conversion similar to this, and that piston looks like the one he used, Suzuki 250.....
Take the kink out of the hose as i may stop the fluid from retuning to the master. Also never the grease seals just rub some fluid around them. Is that the o ring type? If so you can get them from anywhere.
