Hi all,
Ive just purchased my first Lambretta TS1 225 and I think there's a problem when the engines running at low revs it feels like it's miss fireing until I get the revs up, it then goes like a rocket putting a big smile on my face. Is this a common thing with tuned engines or is there something I should be checking. It has a varitronic ignition, not sure about the carb make (can only find made in Japan on it). any advice would be welcome.
Thanks Modlife

Yes your right, it is a Mikuni 35mm. Do you think I would be better going back to a standard stator? or wouldn't it make any difference.Supereibar wrote:sounds like one of those mikuni devils.... also, the varitronic ignition has hardly any weight to keep a regular tickover
I thought I had left the choke on at first but hadn't. I have also checked the choke cable and it seems to work ok.
Thanks

Hi,pop the needle out and move the e clip up one notch towards the top then take it for a short run to see if its any cleaner (no motor way road tests tho)sounds rich to me,got a few friends that have had the same as you and that's what we did to sorted both bikes.
Dyno check after would be advisable in my opinion.

Hi Gaz, Dean
I managed to have a look at the various parts of the carb, they are as follows
main jet- 320
pilot- 20
slider- 6.0
needle- 55
I tried the circlip on the third notch down, which didnt make any real difference, so tried it on the second notch down, which has improved things. I'll keep checking the plug!
Cheers

ps: GAZ, not sure if your getting my pm messages, but thanks for the info.
