Thanks for the replys, interesting Adam the guy that tunes my barrel/piston also runs a 22 delly. He's saying leave the 28 with a remote filter and see howbit goes so I think I'll give it a go and see if the performance is affected. Havebheard Cam/Lam have a new filter out.. Is this on a 24mm Mikuni ?

I run a 28mm PHBH with remote filter (big RAMAIR or Breathe Sweet) on one of my bikes and the same with 30mm PHBH on another so do like remote filters. However, I see little reason to run one with a 22mm, where a modified airbox and decent standard-type filter would suffice.

It's Darren, Adam who I think you know well, as in Englishman. He wasnt suggesting a remote filter on a 22. I have a large tank which bearing in mind how long I took to fit it there's no way it's coming out...

Ok, check to see what options/space the tank gives with the carb in position. You'll find that manifold choice has a big influence on what you can/can't fit. One option for a remote filter is to the filter parallel with the running board, rather than upwards. A pal of mine has done this on a tuned bike in Australia and it seems to fit pretty well. If you give me an email address then I'll try to find a photo and ping it your way (can't be bothered to upload it... soz).

There is always a solution but the best way to address it is to assess limitations imposed by tank and other components, then work around these to find the best solution that suits you. Where there's a will...

yes, its like a k and n, ive not used mine yet but in my lab (kitchen) i compared a paper one and this and could feel my breath blowing through this but the paper one was like blowing through mdf


and rosscla, i tried the hose you are looking at on ebay but could not get the rubber under the panel. the breath sweet was made to do the job and i can run a ts1 wirh or without the filter without re jetting which shows that the flow is good

One point re foam filters, you need to mount it as far as pos from the carb. i know that this is diff on a lamby but pos if you think about it.
