gearing advice

Hi building a 175 engine to put in a chop and was going to put a sterling or scoot rs pipe on it running a jetex carb.Gearbox is Li150 ( remade one ) and 15/46 sprockets and 80 link chain , am i better changing the sprockets?

The sterling/scootrs pipes like to rev out a bit... I always worked to a final drive of 5.3 for those pipes

Your setup will provide 5.2. So pretty much spot on.

Stick with what you have and try it.

Spoke to Harry Barlow at Pro Porting and i'm going to send top end off to him to get it stage 4 tuned , running with Sterling pipe he's recommending using 16/46 with it but i'll double check with him once he's finished with the top end.

Fair enough but I'd still leave it as 5.2

Did a bit of searching on various forums and thought it would be fine, will check with Harry as maybe he couldn't understand my Scottish accent lol
