Indian 22mm Carbs
Just got a secondhand 22mm Indian Jetex carb, it has a 118 main jet in. I was wondering if there's any difference between the 150 and 200 22mm ones like there was on the Dellortos, slides/jetting etc? I've also heard of some mods that need doing on the Jetex to make it perform properly?

Slide and atoimizers are different, as far as I know, that is the main difference.

I've heard of people modding a Jetex carb, but I've no idea how. I think they are unfairly maligned really. Replace the jets with proper Dell'orto ones and they are usually very good. What I will say though is that the paper gasket for the bowl is absolute rubbish and the main weakness if you ask me. It's not a carb for chopping and changing your jetting because the gasket will just go to pieces and leak fuel everywhere.
I'll try and use some Dellorto 18/20 mm choke and pilot jets. Can anyone tell me if the Dellorto 18/20 had similar jets to the Dellorto 22?

Not on your nelly. Before you start you need to tell us what carb you've got and what engine it's going on. Is there a bowl cut into the back of the slide? If so it's a 150 carb.
Only going on standard 200 with a standard exhaust. No cut out on the slide, I thought some of the Dellorto jets might have be easy to swap?

The jets might be easy to swap but getting the right ones is the trick

A 45 or 48 pilot, atomiser 5899.2, probably a 120 / 122,3 main jet with a 50 choke I would think should put you in the ball park. But there is only one way to find out.
