I think he asked the question because the offside block is usually subject to more stress and therefore more likely to collapse. I think you just buggered up his theory.WINTERMODEL150 wrote:Hi,flywheel side was the casa one :wtf:RICSPEED wrote:dean ..just out of interest ..which side was the casa fitted ??WINTERMODEL150 wrote: Interesting question,6k miles ago i fitted 1 sil and 1 casa bush in my engine and strangely the casa bush has warn out totally leaving the sil one looking as good as the day i fitted it ,so now ordered 2 indian bushes from Rayspeed just the job![]()

fitted genuine sil ones in 2010 and they are still looking Ok, the three hole type. theres a little extra flex around the kickstart side but im not too concerned. i would expect a minimum of 20,000 miles from silent block bushes, the 1971 silent blocks in my GP engine (100's of rallies)are still fine so i can't see why new ones can't be made as good.

There is another aspect to the differing rate of deterioration of left and right silent blocks and that's the use of open mouthed carbs which spitback petroil.
