tubed tyre sealant advice?

I ultrasealed mine a few weeks ago, I reckon it increases my chances of surviving a blow out in one piece and have never heard of any downsides to the stuff?

I've got sealant in both types of tyres: I figure if it doesn't work I'm only £20 quid worse off and if it does work, then I won't be complaining either....

BTW, there are two types, one for inner tubes and the other for tubeless rims. Make sure you get the right type. It should say on the bottle or the box, if in doubt ask whoever is running the shop.

Those sealents are only a get you home measure.
Don`t rely on them

I too have to agree, I don't use slime, instead I find a good pair of flat soled boots come in very handy if you have a puncture at speed. :ninja:

lol..need new boots now as well , right just searched the forum for info on slime and this seems to be most informative regarding information, Only found 1 other post form Nic regarding how much you should apply to each tube and he refereed to 8 oz had been put in his rear tyre ?, any other takers ?

I shall move this topic to FAQ when we get all questions answered for future members wanting information on this topic..

I have put Goop in one of me scoots, 250 ml per wheel
suitable for tubed and tubeless,not had a puncture since so
cant say if it works or not.

I use Ultraseal in my tubes.
a bit more expensive than some brands, but had the best reviews when I was looking into this, which was a few years ago.
and as a bonus, I used some to seal a slow puncture on my van

since writing that; when i changed my rear tyre after riding up through France there was some Ultraseal between the tyre and tube, and a split of about 10mm on the tube, that the Ultraseal had sealed... I was not even aware anything had happened, just probably had put a bit more air in when checking the tyre pressures one time... I think without the Ultraseal it would have been a blowout.

I have also had another puncture, quite a big hole, the tyre went down quickly this time, but not suddenly, at such a rate that no control was lost.

So I would still recommend Ultraseal, I use it in all my wheels.

One container for about £25-£30 will do 4 or 5 wheels.

I've already told him where to get it.

I've used it for years and won't even consider not using it,for a few quid it could be a life saver.

Only problem is when you use it in tubeless rims the tyre fitters moan 'cos it goes everywhere when they take the old tyre off

lol..yes im gonna put some in chaps, but for my and the members information is it correct to put 8oz in each tube..
