Mines a V4 with 60mm crank(230) JL3,phbh 28,foam air filter, just been dynoed and is spot on.
main 116

Av264 is a lean atomiser, x7 is a lean needle, 116 is a very lean main jet. Individually they all have thier place, but it seems like a very lean combo to me? Especially on a 230cc using a JL3.
Still.....if its been dynoed and the man says its ok then maybe I'm being over cautious.

You have a lot more experience/knowledge than me so i appreciate what your saying! I only took it to be dynoed because i fitted the filter and was reckoning on it needing down jetting a bit. It was actually running a bit rich so he changed the main from 120 to 116 which bought it down just right!
It starts and runs nice so all i can do is keep an eye on the plug colour and hope for the best

What type of filter are you running? I ask as this seems a little 'on the money' (little safety margin) to me too and a pal of mine had a similar experience where he fitted a filter to a well set-up bike and then had it dyno'ed (different place)... then seized it on the way home! The error that they made at the dyno centre was in trying to jet around a lack of air-flow, making it weaker and weaker until the balance of air + fuel was correct, but the real issue was that it was so restricted by the filter that the balance actually ended up with it having too little of both! He ended up taking it to a different dyno centre, who changed the filter and then set it up much richer on the jetting to suit the improved air-flow. This bike then ran very well for years, without ever suffering another problem.
As stated previously, all the components in your list are very common in Lambrettas but the combination is quite weak for the spec' of your motor. The spec isn't so far off that I'd panic but slightly on the weak side, meaning that I'd keep an eye on plug colour and an ear out for pinking, which is the same that I'd recommend to anyone that has just had their bike dyno'ed.

Agree with the comments saying it sounds a little weak although your correct in saying a filter generally makes bikes run richer. Be very careful especially in the mid range. If it was one of my mates i 'd strongly advise getting a second opinion.
Could be right as all bikes and set ups can be different but it is an unusual one in my opinion.

My muggy 225v4 with a pm copy pipe runs these settings on a 30mm PHBH;
120 main
av268 atomiser
x7 needle (1.5 clip position from top)
52 pilot
50 slide
300 needle valve
And thats with a remote filter! Hope this helps.
They do seem to like rich atomisers and you will find that this is not far away from what Cam Lamb recommend as a starting point for muggy 225's. You will get a certain amount of spit back as well.
P.s. Nice to see you posting Adam. Your posts on the LCGB site really helped me out with learning about PHBH carbs.

Hi Adam im using one of those marchald filters from mbd that fit under the sidepanel! I was running open mouthed previously with the only jet difference being a 120 main instead of 116.Does that "open mouthed" set up seem too weak to you aswell?
After i first fitted the filter i didnt notice any difference with its running/starting/hot or cold and only took it to be dynoed to make sure it was set up right!
You`ve got me worried now ha ha! The guy that dynoed it is a scooter mechanic with many years experience so i have no reason to doubt him really!
I`ll just have to go with it and keep an eye on the plug,if i seize it i`ll let you know as long as you dont say "told you so" :biggrin:
