OK so this has got to be the only one around. A red LI 150 Special - from the factory. What's particularly nice is that it runs like new as the video shows. It's sitting in a friend's garage and gets ridden a few miles a year.
Fantastic! what year is it??. looks like about 1967. thats a little unusual because the 1969 run-out models would have been the ones painted red, ochre, apple green. can't see why they would have sold any red models before the DL design was finalised and they needed to shift old designs. might have been a factory worker or a design study. They did sell the SX200 in red in 1968 but ive not seen a red 150 in the flesh.
Alcoholic maniacs social club. out f@@k,out fight and out booze 'em.
yeah i don't get that either. it's a pre-mod model with the chrome ring. then again, who knows what they did for the US market. maybe they wanted the red off a mustang.
That color for the Li150 Special was for the US market only as far as I can tell. I've owned a couple of them myself. Not as common as the Silver but definitely not a dealer special or respray. They came that way from the factory.
The first one I owned was early in my early Lambretta days. I just assumed somebody had resprayed the bike so I stripped it all down and painted it another color. Oops
