Dont knock a guy if all he does is say it how it is.

A mate of mine bought a bigbore from er let me think (cant/dont care to remember),

would not fit due to fixing of the box section not lining up with casing fixings.

phoned the dealer and got a reply, "oh you got the wrong u-bend".

cut the brackets off and re-welded in the correct place and hey presto fits a treat and the u-bend is bang on too.

We wont be doin much buyin from these now.

I have a PM pipe on a GP an it's easy to fit.

It's these sort of problems that make me wonder why people don't all go to engine builder that do an all-in-one engine package.
Although I've no interest in buying one of the super duper engines from Charlie, that sort of thing has to be a better bet than dealing with all the sh it of doing it yourself.
Obviously you pay a premium for someone else's build time. But what price your own time when you're spending days/weeks/months off the road fannying about fixing things that really shouldn't need fixing?

Alcoholic Maniac said the other day that his tuned TV200 barrel wouldn't catch one of the SM kits (and a few other things too). BUT, it came as a complete engine (I believe). How many days has it been off the road due to shoddy parts, in the time since build? I'd warrant a slack handful at the most.
My engine came as a complete engine. Apart from changing the top end to make it more user friendly two up, and a couple of teething troubles (sorted when binning parts from AF), it's not missed a beat in five years. The exhaust hasn't rotted away, or rattled, or fallen off.

I wonder who's dirty work your doing.

Id rather come across as argumentative than a brown nose

LOL! Eden, you crack me up,your wasted on a forum like this, you should be up on stage cracking cheap jokes,I bet you could have an argument with a mirror.

Lets just clear some facts up shall we,

1, Im doing nobodys "dirty work" as you put it, I come on here occasionally to have a read and EVERY thread that mentions a certain northern well known scooter dealer, you pipe up and slag them off openly on here, I dont know what your personal grievance is with them but its obvious to me and anyone else who reads them that you have a serious problem- maybe even an obsession in slagging that company off- that's why I used the "saddo" comment.

2. Ive never brown-nosed anyone in my life, and I dont intend to start now. I cant stand arse lickers myself, I dont put people on pedestals, were all born and die as equals.

3. Ive been a customer of this said northern scooter shop for 24 years and in this time have never had any problems with any of the parts or engineering work Ive had from from there, and the 2 engines that Ive had built there have covered a total of about 20,000 trouble free Lambretta riding from 1988 to present day. You may not like the fact but they are the best at what they do. I started using them after being let down by a much bigger scooter shop at the time and never went back to them after receiving bad after-sales on a new GP200 and poor service in general.

4. Good luck with your personal crusade to try and bring down/slag off/ruin/damage reputations/to a big named dealer, I only use top quality parts on my Lambretta , shame you don't allow yourself that choice.

What's that? About two a day?

You could push a bike further than that, in fluffy slippers.
