And why do said dealer / developers produce exhausts that are made of cheese rather than steel. How many aftermarket pipes have we all had that have had the end can drop off or the brackets shear after just a few hundred miles.

you have to remember here ..lammies vibrate like hell ,the exhaust is also unsprung weight ..and has a hard life in comparison to a motor cycle expansion which is well secured to the frame

If mine had been a Taffspeed pipe there wouldn't have been a problem trouble with my expansion pipe and its not a Taffspeed copy; was the cones joints were overlapping not cleanly butt welded as they should be; this from new; not run; never been on a scooter before; it comes down to build quality then lack of quality control  cost me well over £200 and ive had to have it cut and welded at my expense,

Yep you are caught between a rock and a hard place; you spend your long hard earned cash to be clearly get ripped off as in my case.
A very well know ( I thought ) respect dealer has clearly taken advantage of my location in the world and treated me with mediocre goods, services and contempt, whilst showing great efficiency and urgency in taking my cash.
You know it’s not politically correct to use this forum to vent out our grievances, however you do not want anyone else to fall in the same trap. After many phone calls to try and sort out the issue with the dealer that was verbally agreed to and confirmed via email you are left with this.
To shame, or not to shame that is the question.

The crux of my original rant was that I wouldn't mind paying the right price for a well made exhaust that fits. I accept that those selling exhausts need to make a profit and so they should. I do know how difficult it is to make an exhaust having made one for my race scooter back in the 80's.

What I don't like is the make do attitude. We recently had to cut up and grind back a poorly put together well known exhaust make. It was just shoddy workmanship, with a poorly overlapped cone.

What still gets me is how many people would buy the exhaust and just put it on and not notice a mis-aligned cone. It' only because we know what we are doing and are lucky enough to have the kit and workshop to rectify the mistakes others make. It's not fair on the unknowing buyer.

Anyway the dealer has offered a full refund, problem is the rest of the exhaust is exactly what I want. So my choice is I'm keeping it. I've had to grind a s**t load off the stub to make it fit and will have to strengthen some areas, well I won't, but my welding supremo buddy Heimi will!!!

I've got to be honest, a set of lomas pipes for my old KR1S looked good enough to mount on a mantlepiece. However, the welding and construction of SOME of the lammy exhausts is not of the same quality. But it's from the same manufacturer. Work that one out?

One thing I have learnt is that it makes no difference what so ever, one very well know dealer replied to a customer service question with a torrent of abuse, telling me basically that if I dont like it f@@k off and shop elsewhere and added that this wasn't there normal level of customer service, ye right, maybe its not if you keep your mouth shut.
over the years the vast majority of dealers who's parts I've had a problem with have dealt with the problem in a civilised manner and I've continued using them, as for the other dealer, he can kiss my ring, i'll never spend another penny there and ill make every effort to not buy their parts from 3rd parties either!

note: I haven't mentioned any names, but I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer in question comes along and puts his own foot in it as usual
