I have a MRB 190 i feel the performance is poor.
the answer i am looking for as the spigot has been modified for the larger cylinder
can i fit a standard barrel or even go back to a malossi.
or as its been widened it wouldnt run right?
This could save me stripping and rebuilding and wasting time..

Ps i just think my 190 is slow no grunt or pulling power, standard feels more responsive...

Hi Wayne - I reckon it'd be fine to fit a Polini or a Malossi kit even with an opened crankcase mouth. The spigots never seem to fit so tightly that they are fully supported.

Surprised that the 190 doesn't go well though - I heard they were good in their day. Are you sure it doesn't just need a new set of rings or a rebore. I bet you've been round the planet on it.

Hi mate m name is ramie.
it doesnt need rings or rebore Mrb did that for me a few years ago..
the engine i builts has only done 500 miles
i just recon theres no pull at all..
I wasnt sure if the spiggot had to be tight around the cyclinder,
for cranckase vacums n stuff and fuel distribution.???
thinking of selling the motor..or trying a different top end on it....

Sorry - different Chopper

I reckon it will be ok with a kit but still surprised the 190 feels flat

Ask Diablo to see the graphs for the Polini T5 he's just built.

Raimie, get Broadhurst to give you the exhaust and transfer timings of the thing as he did the 190's pretty much as one offs and I've heard of very dubious timings on them. Strangely all the 170's he used to do that I know of ran very well.

It could be down to the exhaust used.

I had a 190 built buy Taffspeed in the late 80z it was a flying machine..
this kit just has very little power and no pull a standard fells better.
and ive tried lots of pipes.
was gonna reedvalve it but changed my mind as i know it should be faster than standard without a reedvale.
its just a waste of an engine its all new componants, its only done 500 mile in 4 years ago and removed and left sitting in the garage, would love to have another go at getting to go quicker.
