I have recently bought a 63 Vespa with what i believe is a new low mileage engine in it. When i first rode it she went great, no problems whatsoever. Then after about 20 miles over a few days i kept losing power then cutting out although it seems to idle okay. I would like to drain the fuel because i have no idea how old it is. I've searched the net to find the best way to do this but found very little. Do i need to syphon the fuel or can it be drained easily from below the tank? Is it worth using a fuel additive to clean the carb?
Cheers

try clean all jets in card . shine a torch in to tank and look for water , bits of rust etc at bottom of tank make sure bike been stood still for a good time. if you can get pipe off card that will be the best way turn it on to reserve and get pipe lower than bottom of tank . drain in to clear bottle you see if anything in petrol that way to. if you ride and cuts out again take plug out and have a look at it see if wet , black and sooty or black and oil if nice brown to dark brown its ok . if gray to light gray it lean . if not that it could be eletical so check if you have a good spark orange spark not good . col :fb: :fb:
