yeah well thankfully someone stood up to all of them guilty or gullable for democracy and decency.if you look at some old footage that the germans shot of grown men, educated men, selecting small children seperated from their famillies for gassing then its a bloody good job the messeschmitt wasnt even better!! i'd class myself as right wing and patriotic, i don't like sponging imigrants and i think the germans had the best equipment and certainly the most interesting military history BUT i'd never wear a Swastika on my clothes or anything else because theres no excuse for ethnic cleansing now, in hindsight or ever.

In a list of the top 300 fighter aces of ww2 the Germans have 198 of them and occupy the first 110 positions, the first UK pilot comes in at position 212 and there are 9 more in positions between that and 296 ( there are Irish,Canadians and New Zealanders with the RAF in the top 300 but I didnt count them). Imagine what the Luftwaffe could have done if the training and organisation were as good as that of the RAF.
Yeah but is that on planes shot down? If so thats surely because they had to scramble so many fighters because of our bombers. If our fighter pilots could shoot bombers out of the sky I reckon that those figures would be a little different.
Its a fact that after the first generation of German fighter pilots died off the replacements were very inferior.

Can't say I'm offended by the bike btw . Anything that keeps discussion about the horror of WW2 alive is a good thing in my book.
Lest we forget and all that.....

Under developed and prone to issues with its engines and fuel supply. If they had developed it as they should have and not put it on the back burner to concentrate on conventional fighters they would have had a vastly superior aircraft to anything in the sky at that time.

yeah I agree but the fact they got in flying and working at the end of the war was a unbelievable, i wander what machine it might have been if the war hadn't ended for another year or so. The germans already had developed the ballistic missile and not forgetting it was german scientists which helped the yanks to create the atomic bomb in 1945 & dropped on Japan, scary thought, a bit more time and that could have been used against us.

On a lighter note, there were loads of great aircraft developed during WW2 and never seen service. My personal favourite is the ME109 but then I think you already guessed that

I don't think there was any danger of the Germans getting the bomb. They'd abandoned their research. I think the war would have gone on for another year perhaps. They would still have had enemies advancing on both sides and by then the Meteor would probably have been more widely used in service and the Americans would have had the bomb. They could have the most sophisticated aircraft but it wouldn't have meant a great deal because they would still have been starved of resources.
