travel from a to b at a relaxed touring speed at an rpm where the engine is most sweet whilst maintaining reasonable fuel economy
I'm surprised there aren't more people banging on Rich Taylor's door, thrusting wads of cash into his hand for GT kits.

interesting debate. I've found that if you actually tell the tuner what it will be used for, carb, pipe, gearing, style of riding etc they can pretty much produce what you ask for. One mans stg4 could be anothers stg5? It also helps if you are realistic about what you want!

Ok I've bought a jet200 :D

And I have been talking to my dad about what set up to go for. Apparently, we have a 48mm clubman lurking in the garage some where. I imagine this would make for a torquey ride rather than a revy expansion chamber exhaust?

Also would boring out to 225cc make a huge difference to performance? Or again would it just provide more torque? Or would the cylinder wall become to thin?

Thanks,

a clubman type silencer will only surfice to approx half the bhp output and lessen the torque compared to a medium revving proper exp chamber

 I didn't realise the difference would he that huge!?!?

So what kind of ball park figure would you expect to produce with either exhaust from past experience?

It's a different gap between the two exhausts for every different engine/tune etc.....but a good way to view what a clubman does to an engines performance is to view the dyno graphs I posted in the Franspeed Race Pipe review.....it took a 22bhp Avanti Kit and cut its power output to circa 14bhp.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks. Another question, if I send the barrel to a tuner to be tuned with a jl3 in mind. But I fit a clubman as a temperary measure (till funds allow) would the scooter rung awefully if I do this?
