I am struggling to fit my micron to my t5.

When the bracket is this way the exhaust sits too close to the tyre.

When its this way, it clears the tyre but sticks out loads and doesn't clear the stand.

Here is the full system

Here is the bracket of the the scooter.

Any tips?

That'd be great ill send a pm over shortly. :fb:
 however I do think I have been going about it the wrong way, I will try building the exhaust up then fitting. Not trying to build it up on the scooter. I also need to get another rubber mounting as all the ones I have are imperial, which doesn't help :P

the mounts on the micron are mini exhaust/engine mounts and are a unf thread - size very similar to a m8 (uses 13mm spanner) - same used on most mikecks

you can buy them at most motor factors or off ebay they are relatively cheap and always have a spare set with you !

something else to note is that it looks like you have the early solid muffler which is heavy and does tend to tear the rubbers and/or rip off at the bolted joint - keep an eye on it once fitted

best way to fit it up is to put all the bolts in loose and fit the whole assembly them find out where it hangs best then nip it up so as not to stress it anywhere - will forward photos tonight and you`ll be on your way

great exhausts except for the early heavy muffler - mine (with the later cfc muffler) will stay on the subs bench just in case the jl fails

its defineatly the right bracket as they were unique to the micron and the main camber was the same for p2, px and t5 they just used a different downpipe.

the last picture you posted - the box section is correctly positioned on the two brackets on the exhaust main chamber

take off the rubbers and elongate all the holes - those on the exhaust body and those in the ali box section - this will allow more sidesways movement and adjustment.

put a teflon spacer about 10mm (or a nut m10 so the m8 bolt from underneath goes through and it just acts as a spacer) between the swing arm bracket and the box section so when bolt the two together there is a space again this will assist when setting it all up. if you look at the one of the photos i sent it you can see the spacer.

by chance has the exhaust bolt been drilled out - i have come across badly drilled out bolts which have taken another route in the casing meaning brackets will not sit correctly and fit to the exhaust

i have always found the micron easy to fit on p2 and t5

just had another look at your last photo and it looks like you have nipped up the manifold bolts - if you release these the whole pipe will pivot towards the tyre again helping - they do run close to the tyre once mounted.

where are you ?

best of luck
