Fitting new fuel tap in PX tank

just about to fit a SIP fast fuel tap on a PX.

The haynes manual (page 65) states that you need a special tool part number Too32973 in order to complete the task.It looks like a T bar at the top with a long metal pipe with a spanner end at the bottom of it.

Is the nut held and the tap turned or the tap held on the outside with the nut tightended from inside??

Is there another simple way to holding the nut from inside the tank without buying the special tool?????

You need the tool but they don't cost much and like all tools you only buy them once but can use them over and over again

We have these in the USA at local hardware stores for cheaper than the Vespa tool.
I find they work better too.

The tap is held from below and the tool dips down into the tank, it grabs the nut and you spin it off, slowly, about 45 degrees per grab.
Tedious but effective.
