Hi People Im looking for input Ideas on building a nice cruising motor for a recently purchased Rally 200 (American spec autolube)
Im a self confessed Italian riding Ts1 and mugello riding snob LOL Have had mainly Lambrettas since the mid eighties, have had P200E, 2 Rally's and a sprint....
I want a change and sick of the snobbery LOL, most of my club ride Ts1 s, so I would love to build somethin nice and fast, the sprint mentioned came to me some 7 years ago and with it an SX150 with a tuned 210 malossi lump (odd I know)
The engine was a P200E, 210 top end, mazza crank, scorpion pipe, pinasco lightened flywheel, 30 mm dellorto and had some sort of porting (not sure what, but had been tampered with) it was aweful to ride peaky, flat on any hills a right bag of s**t even after 2 complete rebuild and a new top end, the clutch constantly dropped out, when you gave it some, dont want a repeat of that.
Looking for smooth progressive power, mainly mid range top end.
I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone with what they've got, there specs, experience and what theyve achieved, from here to whereever, good reputable vespa tuners. Thanks in advance
Cheers Mark Hopley

I've got an Autolube Rally. The casing are pretty rare nowdays, (how snobby do I sound?
), so maybe think twice about carving big ports in it.
P2 casings, although not as good with the small flyside bearing, are still good enough for what your after.
As for a building a nice mid-range/top end cruiser, then I would get in touch with Diablo Al, (the only person in 30 years of scootering I've had build me an engine).
Chat to him about his Polini 'roadtoad'
Something of that spec with maybe the new Polini alloy barrel.
