heidenaau tyres

I ran these on the RB(When it was running) and as everyone was saying they're a good tyre,very sticky so gripped well in all weathers.

Only got about 2000 miles out of the rear one though

heidenau tyres from northeast germany are one of the best tyres you can buy.
contis or michelin are pure crap compared to heidenaus k38 (classic/block/resto) and the sportive allround k47.
the compound is constant, the quality is very very high. both also very good in wet conditions.
the pictured k58 one is also very good for the first 1000 miles, but the pattern rubs down inequally and starts bumbing and gets louder. try the k38 for your classic or the k47. the k47 might not look so cool, but try it...

contis are crap. also for bicycles they are crap.

JuSt looks at the hiedenau site.
The K61 has different tread patterns for front and rear.
The link at the top of this thread is for a front.
This is what I was sold with out any direction to this fact.
This is possibly be why some of us are getting such poor milage from these tyres.
With this information I will try a rear next time.

the problem is they don't do the rear version only for 10 inch wheels, but the tyres we are using are for both front and rear use.

i know 12 inch does the rear only version as i have seen it on a gts, the only difference is the centre groove is removed

I'm on my third set of Racemans. Never have I had a better gripping tire. I may go to the weathermans as I live in San Francisco and it's at least damp most mornings but to be honest I haven't noticed a need yet. The Racemans do wear a bit fast though.

Right, I messed up there. I run the sport tread Heidenaus not Schwalbes. As stated the rear wears quickly but it sure is sticky!
Ready for my 4rth tire. I run a 100/90 on a wide rear rim. Works great!

Surely uneven wear on a front tyre, even one like the k58 pictured, is because of issues with front brakes and/ or suspension causing the front end to hop? This would cause uneven wear. Doubt that the tyre compound is variable around the circumference

I use them, too, and yes, very grippy, great tire.
