I think its bloody amazing, a cracking piece of kit.
I presume he's gone to all that trouble, for the benefit of reduced friction of belt drive.
It's one of the things i considered when i was thinking about more BHP.....transmission losses, and how could they be reduced? Not that i have the technical ability to do a belt drive conversion, but it was an idea that i had, and i thought it would have great benefits.....but would be an engineering disaster if i tried it.
I also considered dropping from a double link chain to a single link...various gearbox friction reducers and coatings, different bearing options, oil options, re-machinging the gearbox cogs, etc etc......and then realised that hese ideas were all flights of fantasy for my riding level!
Maybe when im in the top 5-10 i'll look into some Nasa style add-ons like Mr Topper!
