was reading a bit on sip website and it suggested a - SIP TIP! W3CC spark plug (Bosch)looks short reach although the pic may be different it says.
I usually just use a Denso W24ES (B8ES NGK) which are long reach , what would be the benefit of the W3CC or a short reach, something to do with compression I would imagine.....or have I been using the wrong plug all these years?

just looked elsewhere , duff picture , it is a long reach but anyone use short?

Never use a short reach in a long reach head. It shrouds the spark, lowers compression and cokes up the threads so you cant get a long reach plug back in. Im a NGK B8 fan. Depending on tune either ES or EGV

Maybe its to do with machined heads with lowered compresion that needs a shorter reach plug.
I see it all the time where people have made no attempt to fit the plug in its right position and have it protruding into the bowl. Most machined 210 heads will need an extra compression washer under them to bring them back into position.
Oz is dead right about using short reach plugs but having the electrode too far out will cause potentially more expensive problems!

Hmmm, what are these NGK B8 EGV , never heard of them. Looked at them on web , bloody expensive for a plug. What sort of tune would use this? I have malossi kit with no extra work done on the shaded areas, reed valve, machined head , long stroke crank 30mil delly and augusto with JL rhs exhaust, would this EGV be worth the £10 or would it be as much a waste of time as the iridium (6 week wonders)plug? Good point about the extra washer , something I have never checked.

Depending on where your driving the scooter,
IE, doing a rally good few hundred miles motorway and duel carriage i always use a B10 cold runner
but just about town a B8 and if your doing a few miles occaionally skelping it a B9..

Pain in the tits changing it but saves a fortune in the long run. but that's the joys of tuned scooters. ;)
