you been on the meths

blueprinting has many different meanings in engineering term we used to use blue dye for marking out on half of a product then lay the oposite on top any un blued areas were removed with grinders
when i had a mini we used to blue dye the heads then drop them on the block or vice versa and again look at the unmarked areas and then look to see if we could blend the areas till there smooth with no sharp areas
can you show me the innocenti cylinder inlet manifold blue print drawing for a 30mm dellortto carb please ?

Yes blue printing does have a few meanings, if we take it in the context of the thread, it means checking something to a reference point. Designers used to reproduce their drawing on light sensitive paper then produce copies with the aid of an ammonia die/gas, the copied drawings had a blue tinge, then more of yellow tint as time went on.
It sounds like CE checks everything to his original design, good on him. Which could open up a new can of worms however, if something happened CE (god for bid) what happens to the Super Monza?

Mutley... chill mate. Have a look at the first pics from a customer supermonza.I am not sure why you are SO anti a development in Lambretta tuning?

Oz.... sorry for the 'dissing' but if you are prepared to give it you have to be prepared to take it.
I wasnt sure why exactly you are interested in lambretta stuff anyway to be honest? If you are thinking of a sm kit for your p2 then you will have to chat to charley re prim compression and flow rates as I am thinking you may need to re work a little to get the expected figures as well as a one-off pipe. Also the lambretta runs in 'reverse' to your vespa so you may have to consider load surfaces and port area tolerances to make sure you dont destroy it. But thats an area for CE. He will advise.

The term blueprinting on tuning engines refers to makin sure everything is at its optimum , including matching , bearing tolerances ,shims , compression ratios ,infact anything , its closing the tolerances that a producion engine has ,tony scott is well known in motorcycle racing ,his blueprinted engines were more powerfull than the honda racing jap engines ,but it takes a lot of time to do and is not about sticking new parts together , the way i see it is that charlie has cleaned and tweeked the barrel to how he wants it ,to blueprint it i would have thought it would have to go on the exact engine it was goin on , crank in place and all the relevant timings checked etc ,thats my take on it anyway lol !
