Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming: "WOW, WHAT A RIDE"

Every time I see someone riding along wearing a parka, or not wearing gloves I think "that person has never fallen off a scooter".
Here's mine. All my own fault. A Peugot in front decided to stop for an amber light and I simply couldn't stop in time. Head through the back window with an open face helmet. Lots of scars and a broken nose to talk about in the pub and the kids think I am a pirate.
The front brake didn't help, repro Italian disc brake which is even worse than the standard drum.

This was the rebuild on a spare frame, in the two weeks before Euro Lambretta 2009. Got me to Lincoln and back.

Never ride too close to the vehicle in front.

Seeker...you should post a photo of your boat race every time we have stupid posts attacking riders who wear safety gear in favour of p155 pots and parkas..
Sorry to fall of the fence

Jon Uffy's group 6 in the shot. I think I was preparing it for lyden hill at the time (2010. )
Its such a shame that there are so many accidents amougst us. 90% will always be sombody elses fault.
Since this accident I have been seriously put off riding / racing and I'm a very bad car passenger. Nothing like crashing on the race circuit. Personally I believe racing is safer.
