Blow torch

What is an ideal size LP gas torch for Lambretta engine work, ie engine mounts, bearings.

I've only really used big f@@k-off ones at my mates workshop, but's it's a bit inconvenient to travel around to heat up a case or wot'not so I'd like one to use at home..

mines just a plumbers blow torch, dunno watt rating. also got a Belling hotplate that i got from a car boot sale for a quid, just put the casings over it for ten minutes or so. works great. look out for little baby Belling cookers at boot sales etc. great for heating mag housings, and the double plate on top can fit a lammy casing, also keeps the shed toasty warm in the winter. if i need anymore heat, i can use the bearing heater, and oxypropane burning gear at work.

or this which you attach a Mapp gas cartridge to. Quicker than a heat gun. Piezo ignition too



And you can light your fags off it

I got an butane one from Lidl or Aldi (we're posh here, got one of each) £5ish? plus a pack of canisters for cheap.
BTW, You can light a fag on a eleccy heat gun too.

No problem bearings etc in the Freezer and as we cook with gas, a trip to the kitchen. They only need it if they are cooking the tea.

The eleccy one ones are better for zapping wasps and flies, the gas ones crack the glass too easily.
