OK, so can you confirm this please. You will make an all new full 5 piece one off Lambretta gearbox from case hardened EN36 material for £500. Every part machined from blank material.

Technically it is not a problem to put kickstart teeth on first gear, it is the cost of doing it (particularly on one off ops). Some of the complexities involved has lead some, on occassions, to "dress up" original parts and claim them as fully manufactured when they are not.

Why is it back at your house?
why did he take it out of his scooter?
if it was in for testing, what was the outcome?

We know you made a gear box for Stuart, no one doubts this. It is also known that it was made from the wrong material (EN24) and wore out (which, I guess, is why you have it back). You also say this in your previous post Oct 22nd, "a bit soft":

I was asking if you would clarify exactly what you were offering for £500 from your Oct 24th post. For example if you are offering an EN24 gearbox from one you made earlier then this is no good. Any new performance gearbox has to offer a significant improvement over current supply to be worth the investment otherwise it's a pointless exercise.

A performance gearbox can be made but it costs money and the smaller the volumes the higher the unit costs (as I mentioned earlier). If you confirm, as I asked earlier, that you can provide an all new gearbox in low volumes to the correct material specification (EN36 case hardened and ground) then you should really confirm it to people on here so they know what they are getting. £500 for the correct specification and design is a VERY good price. £500 for an EN24 gearbox is a very expensive paper weight.

I just dont see the point, I can see loads of people buying one of those and ridding many fun miles on it................. NOT, more chance that anyone buying one would put it in a scooter in a glass case in fear of braking it or getting it dirty!
I just think its ridiculous!

Rimini Lambretta Centre: The way things are looking at the moment after initial testing is that all is okay on the gearing and the ratios. As the gearbox is made by Denis @DRT, problems with quality is not going to be an issue as he uses the same manufacturers as Honda Italia use for their race engines. The gearbox should take 30bhp, no problem. The Omega (and Tinos') boxes were made using the ratios : Sx150 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and the Omega 5th gear was the SX200 4th. Their problem was lack of quality and crap ratios. Hopefully we've cured all that and the RLC gearbox will also come with a few choice extras. Expected retail price will be around the £500 mark, for the complete kit. News to follow both here and more in-depth on our shop website : www.riminilambrettacentre.com
