ts1- clubman exhaust

Do they perform alot better than a standard AF 48mm clubman? What sort of cost for this pipe?

If you look @ mb"s latest design of clubman you will see the same idea as harry"s ~ Instead of a steep short taper leading from the header to the box ~ The taper is longer and not as steep ~ This allows the system to rev higher than a standard clubman ;)

thing is, you can go so far.... might be easier / cheaper to make an expansion and box it in to make it look like a clubman.......

Or, crazy idea, if you want performance, just use a proper exhaust.

A clubman pipe is never going to be an amazing piece of kit. You can make improvements to the standard box, and obviously make improvements to an AF clubman. But eventually, if you want performance, you really should get a real pipe.

I run my TS with a Avanti , it makes just under 20 bhp which is about right for a standard barrel and keeps up with any of my mates who run them with expansion pipes , the thing I like is that you get to keep your scoot looking and sounding standard ish and it still performs as well if not better than scoots with a great big pipe hanging out the back of it .

I ran a TS1 with a 60mm crank and an ancillotti pipe for a while. It was a bit flat, used the same amount of fuel as the same kit with a JL3 and had about the same accelleration as a stage four 200 iron barrel. It would build up to about 65/70 (sx200 gearing) but was a waste of the kit. For the same performance an Indian 200 with a decent piston, clubby pipe and 28 dellorto would give the same performance.

JL4 with the Annhilator TS1 and DevTour with the RaceTour ported one. Don't see the point of running a race spec kit with a 60's exhaust box. I'm another one. :) Besides, clubmans on TS1's are too damn loud!

I was looking at Ron Moss`s webstite a few years ago and his blue SX200 had a tapered down pipe which he did back in the 60`s so people were doing it back then.

Geoff Stephens "Wildcat Tuner" was using modified lambretta exhausts "Clubman Type" in the seventies and knocking 100mph out of a lambretta barrel not ts or rb ~ So they can be modified for high speed :bouncing: :bouncing: ;) :moon:
