Exhaust port width/standard downpipe

Fitting an early Tv 200 barrel today using standard 38mm downpipe.just been looking at the step 45.5 exhaust width/ 38mm downpipe width. Could anybody throw light on how this set up works with (in effect) 7mm interference. Cheers

Fitted the engine. Going to give it a go with standard set up for now,just like to know the theory
Behind the 45mm exhaust width to 38mm down pipe. Any replies appreciated.

i think he means the exhaust downpipe is 38mm but tapers to 45mm as it enters box. i have one of these in my garage

sorry ricspeed seems i read this wrong . i thought it was an exhaust like mein that was being talked about :oops:

No, just wanted to know how a TV 200 barrel works fine with the exhaust port/down pipe dimensions. For optimum performance I always thought a smooth transition was prefered. Not the TV 200 set up
