I have been wondering if it could be electrical, maybe something breaking down. But i have put a new 12v conversion on it, including a new loom. i only just got the headset top fastened back on last week after putting an Italian lightswitch in which works perfectly. I put an earth lead under one of the small bolts on the gear control rods.
It's a full resto job so i have replaced everything. But i'm not sure about the quality of the flywheel or CDI as i think they are Indian?????

Cheers.

Have you got the gears cables the right way round???

If not, you'd be trying to pull away in second...

Its one that's popped up before...

When you select first, the selector on the top of the engine should rotate clockwise viewed from above and then 2,3, & 4 should make it rotate anti clockwise...

Anything stuffed under seat which blocks the scoop (been there done that one TWICE!)

Carb blockage?

Ignition fault?

Hope you find it...

Hi mate.
Yes the cables are correct. All new and i took quite some time to get them laid out properly.
Air scoop is removed and nothing stuffed under the seat.
The carb is brand new, although i'm beggining to which i had spent a bit more and bought a different/better quaility one. (22mm jettex).
Now i'm wondering if the LT pick up is breaking down under load? It's new but an indian one i think!!
You may have guessed i'm no expert! But i'm tthinking his one will turn out to be and epic. (b@11@x!)

Thanks for the input.

Yep ,thats a worthy note. It would comfirm/eliminate any electrical gremlins.
Problem is i can't borrow one off anyone to try and don't want to spend more £'ss on another, especially as mine is a new one.

Well do you know what mate, i wish i hadn't bought it. It came from a 'dealer' who shall remain nameless. The first stator had a load of the insualtion missing, the second one had some of the plastic missing which housed the various coils etc. Then i couldn't fit the cowl over the flywheel. so the guy said, oh yeah you need an Indian flywheel cowling. To which i replied, ive got and original item which has now been painted. So i had to wait ages for him so send me down a shorter fin flywheel. Long story, but this put me back by a good couple of months.
Lots of messing about because of being sent poor quality sh@@e.

Anyway, had some help from the guy at Allstyles today, said it could be the exhaust being old and knackerd giving me the whole headache with the running issues.
Fingers crossed!!

cheers.

PS. Apologies for the random rant!

I think if it was an electrical problem it would run ok or not at all (maybe intermittantly), apart from poorly timed ignition, faulty coils/CDI etc wouldn't cause loss of power.

What is the compression like?

Compression is good mate as far as i know. It's all rebuilt, new piston GP crank re-bored cylinder etc etc.
Always worth getting the compression tester out to check though. Any ideas what i should be getting? Its a 125 to 175 conversion.

Thanks.
