Rich Taylor is making some more GT kits. I can't remember the last time I heard of one going pop - for any reason.
You don't need to downgear to make them move either. 4.6 is normal. Bolted on with a 30 mil carb and a clubman, mine does about 70 on the flat. More on damp mornings. Very good on petrol too.

I was looking at them the other day, is there any kind of lead times for the kit?

I think I was being a bit optimistic with what I was after from the engine. What I kit it with is more a matter of being offered a kit at the right price.

I paid less than 400 pounds for mine, with a head. I've done about 8000km on it now, without any problems. And it runs with semi synthetic oil too, at 3%.

By consider any kit, I mean one with a good reputation. I don't fancy one of those Indian type barrels.

I just want to keep my options open, you never know what's in someone's garage waiting to find a home. Like I say what are the lead time on the gt kits? Or is that under raps?
