just bought another engine casing,Indian GP 150,(sorry if this has been asked before) and I would like to build up a 200 engine as a spare/something to do,what's involved and how much and who does it? basically to convert a 150 casing to 200.I know it'll need more meat around the barrel and then re-tapping,any recommendations and an idea of cost please. If its worth doing I'd like to pursue it as the price of 200 casings is getting a bit out of my reach, and ideally I would like to put a Indian 200 stage 4 barrel on,I know there's imolas and mugellos that'll fit a 150 casing and those alloy 200 barrels but I'm on a tight budget and would prefer to go down this route.Cheers.Dave
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.

You can bore the 185 SR type barrels to 66mm (200) with reasonable safety, and this will fit straight on to your casing with no mods, a bit of porting, reprofile the head to suit, a decent piston, this would be a cheaper alternative option.
Keep on keepin on

All Spanish casings from mid 60's onwards (as oposed as the popular thought of only being the late 80's kind the best ones to build around) have enough space to do an interesting build up without too much hassle.

I'm in the process of converting an LI125 case, not only to 200, but with huge ports too.

I've had the case welded up by an old guy for $150 (thats about 75 quid!)
and I'm now exploring two milling options:
1: make a box jig to hold the case in a mill at my friends work, and mill it all myself
2: get the engineers over the road from my work to do it. I talked to them yesterday about it and am going to take the case in to see what they think it will cost etc

I was keen to make the jig and do it myself, then try and replicate the milling on as may 125/150 cases as I can get my hands on, so unless the engineers are cheap as, I'll do it myself!

I'll post some pics up when I have some progress

Cheers,

If someone set up a quick service like this in the UK they would make money.

I didn't know that but it's great news. How much do they charge?
