scooter is starting to come together a bit more now. Got the panels, leggies back from the bead blasters and gave them a quick spray of primer to stop em rusting. Not as bad as i thought but there are a few holes on the legshields by the bridge peice and one pannel looks as though its been dragged down tyhe road (it had).

Blasting also revealed big crank in the flywheel housing, suspect that its to far gone to be welded?

Also had the casings polished and they look the bo****s!

Will post some moreafter the felteling.

... :?

seriously, I'd always make sure it can handle and stop before making it go fast... you can still scare yourself, but know that you can also get out of trouble when you need to. maybe I've just lost some recklessness over the years...

prob best you ride at the front of the group then...

I have been following this thread with interest as im gong to be doing this next year.
I have had some little experience with striping and building Lammys and Vespas in the dark distant past, plus I have a few good mates who will do the parts I cant.
I have in the past totally powder coated a vespa and just ran it as it was bumps and lumps and all it looked lived in ;)
when I do my Lambretta ill powder coat it all then use that as a base coat for my paint but only as Im lucky in that the cost to powder coat the whole thing is only £100 -£110 round here (stockport). :D
Keep up the work you are doing ok I also look forward to the RB20 stage. 8-)

Laz,
yeah im getting there slowly. Will be buying the kit tomorrow so hopfully will have it ready to go in the casing early next week then just have to find the cash for the new NK mid exhaust from AF. Have taken a bit of a kicking from some on the forum due to mmy lack of experience doing somthing like this. To be fair, the knockers do have a point and there comments did make me take a step back and re-think my options. To this end i decided to let somone who knows what there doing, do the engine rebuild but i will be there to pass the spanners...lol

Still have a box full of bits to get chromed as well as new exhaust, carb, cables, fixing kits....the list goes on. Taking all the bodywork in to a mate of a mate to get the prep done then will give the lot to another mate for the respray. Like you i had everything bead blasted the had the frame, loop, hubs toolbox and petrol tank powdercoated in white. The
rest of the scooter will then be sprayed same colour. Think i will prob have the loop sprayed as well as want it to be a good match will the spray job.

Ill post some more pics of the work so far and the kit when it arrives.

Onwards & upwards
